Mixing Art with Science

Overview

This project explores the intersection of astrophysical research and visual art. Scientific data from stellar simulations and hydrodynamic calculations are transformed into visual and multimedia works, inviting a broader audience to engage with the beauty of astrophysical dynamics.

Forum Arts, Sciences et Territoire (FAST)

FAST aims to blend artistic creation and astrophysics to convey a message of urgency regarding climate change. This second edition of FAST, taking place over one week from October 1 to 8, 2026, will bring together artists, scientists, and the public. Hosted by Le Port des Créateurs in Toulon, our event will be organized into three parts. A series of lectures focused on popular science related to astrophysics research, as well as the connection between climate change and scientific and artistic research. An exhibition featuring works by artists from Toulon, Marseille, and Paris, along with images from astronomical research. Workshops for school groups on Thursday, October 1, and Friday, October 2, and for a broader audience (adults and children) for the rest of the week, aimed at raising awareness about artistic creation, climate change, and astronomical research. This year, FAST is part of the program of the Fête de la Science.
